About Me

Hello

In the words of early 20th century artist, designer, writer, and all around cool kid William Morris:

If you want a golden rule that will fit everything, this is it: Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life.

I do not want art for a few any more than education for a few, or freedom for a few.”

Style, to me, is more than following trends or throwing money at the current fashion. Style runs deeper, and is something completely unique to each individual. Some people are born shouting their style to the rooftops, some people swear they’ve never had a stitch of style in their whole lives and couldn’t care less (oblivious to the fact that that IS their style!). Most of us fall somewhere in the middle, overwhelmed by all the options, longing for the language to express ourselves visually, and to cut through the clutter of everyday life into something more authentic. If I’ve just described you, you’re in the right spot. I’ve helped just about every kind of person you can imagine tap into their own deep well of individual style and integrate it into their everyday lives. If we work together I can promise that I’ll be real with you, make you laugh when it all feels like TOO MUCH, and never waste your time or money. Billing is based on reasonable hourly rates and a simple pay-as-you-go structure, so your budget doesn’t need to box you in.

Testimonials

Shout Out!

Whether you consider yourself stylish already or feel totally new to the game, Rose will level you up. This is a woman who hands you the perfect addition to your look as you walk out the door to an event, or cocks her head a little and says “I have an idea for something that would look great on you...” and within minutes, you’re revitalized, looking and feeling like the best version of yourself.
She has taught me the joy that comes from surrounding yourself with beauty in the mundane, ordinary aspects of life, and that it doesn’t need to be complicated or pretentious; doing so can feel natural and reflective of who you are. Life is short, and filling the small spaces we can with things that give us even a little boost each time we see them, whether that’s in your home or on your person, is a worthy endeavor that can fuel and nourish you in unexpected, necessary ways. It’s like her gift is showing you new and wonderful rooms in the home you’ve lived in all your life- have her do so, and you’ll be the better for it.

When I met Rose, I was just starting to consider transitioning, and very much still in the closet. I’m still figuring out how to express myself (and probably always will be!) but she really helped me tap into how I want to be seen. Fashion/clothing was something I never found interesting or important, so when it came to shopping for new clothes I was just clueless, and intimidated honestly. I realize now that I never put much thought into dressing as a man because I didn’t like it. It felt like a chore I just had to get done every day. I knew I wanted to dress more fashionably, but I didn’t understand how fashion could be fun, and more importantly freeing. Rose gave me permission to play around, try on stuff I was scared of, and see myself in the mirror for the first time. She also told me that I deserved clothing that fit me and was as beautiful as I am. That has really stuck with me. So if you’re scared to make a big change, or even a little one, do it!

Working with Rose is a treat. She’s funny, kind, and ruthless when something has to go. I hired her to go through my closet, but I’ve gotten more than I bargained for, like a complete education in how to put outfits together and how to wear some of my more unique things that were just gathering dust. I’ve always thought of myself as a clothes-horse, but as I neared retirement I realized I was just wearing suits and golf shirts. Rose has helped me step it up and wear some of the (now vintage!) treasures I had let languish. I’ll definitely be hiring her again to help me with shopping for my new life of liesure!
